通往天国的道路是借着耶稣基督的。祂是照亮每一个生在世上之人的光。祂给了我们最宝贵的真理。但是许多人没有正确认识什么是他们必须知道和实行的。上帝的子民不要把宝贵的时间花在无关紧要的事情上。他们要努力显示对基督和真理的爱已经把他们的心团结在一起,彼此相爱。这样,他们就能顺从上帝的诫命。{WIMessenger July 1, 1912, par. 1}

The way to heaven is through Jesus Christ. He is the light that lighteneth every man that cometh into the world. He has given us most precious truths. But there are many who have not a right appreciation of what is essential for them to know and practice. Let not the people of God spend precious time on side issues which are of no importance. Let them instead strive to reveal that love for Christ and the truth has knit their hearts together in unity and love, and that this leads them to obey God’s commandments.{WIMessenger July 1, 1912, par. 1}

主已为我们来生的幸福作了一切准备,可是关于这些事情祂没有启示我们,所以我们不要随便加以猜测,也不要用今生的状况来衡量来生的状况。{WIMessenger July 1, 1912, par. 2}

The Lord has made every provision for our happiness in the future life, but He has made no revelations regarding these plans, and we are not to speculate concerning them. Neither are we to measure the conditions of the future life by the conditions of this life.{WIMessenger July 1, 1912, par. 2}

至关重要的问题已明白显示在上帝的道中。这些问题值得我们予以最深切的思考。但是我们不要探究上帝保持沉默的问题。愿上帝帮助祂的子民合理地思考问题。当出现了我们不确定的问题时,我们应当问:“圣经怎么说的呢?””?{WIMessenger July 1, 1912, par. 3}

Matters of vital importance have been plainly revealed in the Word of God. These subjects are worthy of our deepest thought. But we are not to search into matters concerning which God has been silent. May God help His people to think rationally. When questions arise upon which we are uncertain, we should ask, “What saith the Scriptures?”{WIMessenger July 1, 1912, par. 3}

凡我们得救所必需的真理,基督都没有扣留。已启示的事是属于我们和我们的儿女,可是我们不可凭想象编造道理,谈论没有启示的事。这些不重要的问题再三被人提出来,然而讨论这些问题从来没有一点益处。我们不应当容许我们的注意力偏离传扬所赐给我们的信息。多年以来,我蒙指示,我们不应当将我们的注意力放在不重要的问题上。我们没有奉命参加不重要问题的讨论。我们的工作是要将人心引向上帝律法的伟大原则。{WIMessenger July 1, 1912, par. 4}

Christ withheld no truths essential to our salvation. Those things that are revealed are for us and our children, but we are not to allow our imagination to frame doctrines concerning things not revealed. Again and again these non-essential subjects have been agitated, but their discussion has never done a particle of good. We are not to allow our attention to be diverted from the proclamation of the message given us. For years I have been instructed that we are not to give our attention to non-essential questions. We are not bidden to enter into discussion regarding unimportant subjects. Our work is to lead minds to the great principles of the law of God.{WIMessenger July 1, 1912, par. 4}

在审判时唯一要问的问题是:“他们遵守我的诫命吗?”“为鸡毛蒜皮的小事进行无意义的争论,是我们的信徒并不需要的教育。让他们设法回答主的祈祷:“使他们都合而为一。正如祢父在我里面,我在祢里面,使他们也在我们里面。叫世人可以信祢差了我来”(约14:)。{WIMessenger July 1, 1912, par. 5}

The only question asked in the judgment will be, “Are they obedient to My commandments?” The petty strife and contention over questions of no importance is an education which our people do not need. Let them seek instead to answer the prayer, “That they all may be one, as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me.”{WIMessenger July 1, 1912, par. 5}
