  这（问答会）正是基督施教的方式。不应有什么争论。你回答了他们的问题之后，一定要让他们承认问题得到了回答。不要不了了之。不要让他们下次再问。而要谨慎行事，知道自己增进多少。若有什么人开始有了论战的精神，就要告诉他们聚会的目的不是为了辩论，而是要教育那些一直听道却对一些道理不明白的人。不是要陷入他们的教义观点和论点之中。（《文稿》，1890年19b号第15页，〈在总会委员会面前的讲话〉，1890年7月14日）怀爱伦著作托管委员会1979年4月5日发表于美国首都华盛顿{9MR191.1}[1]

  This [question-and-answer meetings] is just the way it was in Christ's teaching. There should not be anything like controversy. And after you have answered their questions, be sure that they acknowledge it is answered. Don't let it drop. Don't tell them to ask that again. But feel your way, how much you have gained. When any come in with a spirit of controversy, tell them that the meeting is not appointed for that purpose, but it is to educate those who have been listening and could not understand some things in the discourses.
