In the beginning the Father and the Son had rested upon the Sabbath after Their work of creation. When “the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them” (Genesis 2:1), the Creator and all heavenly beings rejoiced in contemplation of the glorious scene. “The morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy” (Job 38:7).{BLJ 162.3}[3]

如今耶稣既完成了救赎之工，就安息了。虽然在世上那些爱祂的人十分悲伤，然而在天上是大有喜乐的。在天上的众生看来，将来的希望是光明的。耶稣安息的这一天，是与这个远景永远分不开的。因为“祂的作为完全，”而且“上帝一切所作的，都必永存”（申32:4；传3:14）。当“万物复兴的时候，就是上帝从创世以来，藉着圣先知的口所说的”（徒3:21）时候，这在创世时所设立的安息日，就是耶稣躺在约瑟坟墓里安息的一天，必仍为一个安息和喜乐的日子。“每逢安息日”（赛66:23），当蒙救赎的列国在上帝和羔羊面前欢呼跪拜时，天地都必要同声赞美。{BLJ162.4}[4]

Now Jesus rested from the work of redemption; and though there was grief among those who loved Him on earth, yet there was joy in heaven. Glorious to the eyes of heavenly beings was the promise of the future.... With this scene the day upon which Jesus rested is forever linked. For “his work is perfect” (Deuteronomy 32:4); and “whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever” (Ecclesiastes 3:14). When there shall be a “restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began” (Acts 3:21), the creation Sabbath, the day on which Jesus lay at rest in Joseph’s tomb, will still be a day of rest and rejoicing. Heaven and earth will unite in praise, as “from one sabbath to another” (Isaiah 66:23) the nations of the saved shall bow in joyful worship to God and the Lamb.{BLJ 162.4}[4]

When the darkness had lifted from the cross, and the Savior’s dying cry had been uttered, immediately another voice was heard, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God” (Matthew 27:54).—The Desire of Ages, 769, 770.{BLJ 162.5}[5]
