五月十二日每一位青年必须自行决定

Each Youth Must Decide for Himself, May 12

“凡较力争胜的，诸事都有节制”（林前9:25）。{RC146.1}

And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. 1 Corinthians 9:25. {RC 146.1}

我们每一个人都必须决定自己的生活是由头脑还是由身体来控制。青年人必须各自选择自己的生活方式，不遗余力地了解他必须应付的种种势力，以及塑造品格和命运的种种影响。{RC146.2}

It rests with us individually to decide whether our lives shall be controlled by the mind or by the body. The youth must, each for himself, make the choice that shapes his life; and no pains should be spared that he may understand the forces with which he has to deal, and the influences which mold character and destiny. {RC 146.2}

不节制是人人都必须提防的一个仇敌。这种可怕祸害的迅速增长，理应唤醒每一个爱同胞的人与之抗争。（Ed.202）{RC146.3}

Intemperance is a foe against which all need to be guarded. The rapid increase of this terrible evil should arouse every lover of his race to warfare against it.—Education, 202. {RC 146.3}

凡事有节制有规律拥有奇妙的能力。它比环境或天赋更能促进温和安详的性情。这种性情对铺平人生的道路具有极高的价值。同时，这样得来的自制力，乃是成功应付严肃职责和现实最有价值的工具之一。{RC146.4}

The observance of temperance and regularity in all things has a wonderful power. It will do more than circumstances or natural endowments in promoting that sweetness and serenity of disposition which count so much in smoothing life’s pathway. At the same time the power of self-control thus acquired will be found one of the most valuable of equipments for grappling successfully with the stern duties and realities that await every human being. {RC 146.4}

智慧“的道是安乐，他的路全是平安”（箴3:17）。但愿我们国土上的每一位青年，就是那些具有比君王更高命运的青年，要思考智慧的人话语中的教训：“邦国啊，……你的群臣按时吃喝，为要补力，不为酒醉，你就有福了”（传10:17）。（Ed.206）{RC146.5}

Wisdom’s “ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace” (Proverbs 3:17). Let every youth in our land, with the possibilities before him of a destiny higher than that of crowned kings, ponder the lesson conveyed in the words of the wise man, “Blessed art thou, O land, when ... thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness!” (Ecclesiastes 10:17).—Education, 206. {RC 146.5}

上帝说，“你心要谨守我的诫命。因为他必将长久的日子、生命的年数与平安加给你。”“因为得着它的，就得了生命，又得了医全体的良药。”圣经说：“良言”不仅“使心觉甘甜”，还“使骨得医治”（箴3:1-2；4:22；16:24）。{RC146.5}

“Let thine heart keep my commandments,” God says; “for length of days, and years of life, and peace, shall they add to thee.” “They are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” “Pleasant words,” the Scriptures declare to be not only “sweet to the soul,” but “health to the bones” (Proverbs 3:1, 2, margin; 4:22; 16:24). {RC 146.6}

青年人需要明白圣经所说在上帝那里“有生命的源头”（诗36:9）的深奥真理。祂不但是万有的创始者，也是一切有生物的生命。我们从阳光、清新的空气和建造我们身体、维持我们力量的饮食上所得到的，乃是祂的生命。我们的生存时时刻刻都是靠祂的生命。祂的一切恩赐，除了被罪恶所败坏的之外，都给人带来生命、健康和喜乐。{RC146.7}

The youth need to understand the deep truth underlying the Bible statement that with God “is the fountain of life” (Psalm 36:9). Not only is He the originator of all, but He is the life of everything that lives. It is His life that we receive in the sunshine, in the pure, sweet air, in the food which builds up our bodies and sustains our strength. It is by His life that we exist, hour by hour, moment by moment. Except as perverted by sin, all His gifts tend to life, to health and joy. {RC 146.7}

“上帝造万物，各按其时成为美好”（传3:11）。真正之美的获得，不是靠损毁上帝的工作，而是靠与祂的定律保持和谐，祂创造了万物，并以万物的完美为乐。（Ed.197，198）{RC146.8}

“He hath made every thing beautiful in its time” (Ecclesiastes 3:11, R.V.); and true beauty will be secured, not in marring God’s work, but in coming into harmony with the laws of Him who created all things, and who finds pleasure in their beauty and perfection.—Education, 197, 198. {RC 146.8}
