Judah Rejoiced in Reformation, October 14

“祭司领王子出来，给他戴上冠冕，将律法书交给他，膏他作王；众人就拍掌说：愿王万岁！……国民都欢乐，合城都安静。众人已将亚他利雅在王宫那里用刀杀了”（王下11:12,20）。[1]

He brought forth the king’s son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king....{RRe 289.1}[1]

“利未人和犹大众人”（代下23:8），就联同大祭司耶何耶大膏王子约阿施为王。“众人就拍掌说：愿王万岁”（王下11:12）。[2]

And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they slew Athaliah with the sword beside the king’s house.2 Kings 11:12,20.{RRe 289.2}[2]

“亚他利雅听见民奔走，赞美王的声音，就到民那里，进耶和华的殿”（代下23:12）。她“看见王照例站在柱旁，百夫长和吹号的人侍立在王左右，国中的众民欢乐吹号。”[3]

“The Levites and all Judah” united with Jehoiada the high priest in crowning and anointing the child Joash, and acclaiming him their king. “And they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king.”{RRe 289.3}[3]

“亚他利雅就撕裂衣服，喊叫说：反了，反了！”但耶何耶大吩咐百夫长拿住亚他利雅和一切跟从她的人，带他们到殿外执行死刑的地方，结果他们都在那里被杀了。……[4]

“Now when Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of the Lord.” “And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a pillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets.”{RRe 289.4}[4]

在执行了怙恶不悛的王后的死刑之后，国民立时“都到巴力庙，拆毁了庙，打碎坛和像；又在坛前将巴力的祭司玛坦杀了”（王下11:18）。[5]

“Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried Treason, treason!” But Jehoiada commanded the officers to lay hold of Athaliah and all her followers, and lead them out of the temple to a place of execution, where they were to be slain.{RRe 289.5}[5]

接着进行了一番改革工作。那些参与立约阿施作王的人曾严肃立约，“都要作耶和华的民。”如今，所有耶洗别女儿的恶影响已经从犹大国消灭，巴力的祭司已经被杀，巴力的庙宇已经被毁，于是“国民都欢乐，合城都安静”了（代下23:16;21）。（PK 216）[6]

Immediately after the execution of the impenitent queen, “all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.”{RRe 289.6}[6]
